Martello tower at Pembroke

Pembroke
Taken just after sunrise, this is one of two Martello Towers situated at Pembroke Docks, Wales.

London Museum

London Museum 2

Great lighting potential at Londons British Museum make for an enjoyable few hours when the light is right.

Brussels

Brussels Atonium

I was lucky to find the exit from the metro (above left) at the Atonium was really well illuminated by the natural sunlight. The Atonium itself is an amazing building both inside and out and the refurbished night time lighting setup is really striking.

Canary Wharf

The escalators at the East entrance at Canary Wharf Station, London. I find this possibly more photogenic than the main escalators due to the lack of impeding pillars and the smaller footfall of commuters.

London Underground

An obvious and often shot image of one of the quieter passageways at London Bridge Tube station.

Sainsburys Bude Cornwall

The sheltered link between the car park and the Sainsburys store in Bude, Cornwall becomes almost like a science fiction set at night.

Dupavik

The abandoned "Herring Factory" oil storage tank at Dupavik, Iceland, has to be climbed into via a small hatch on the side. The circles on the floor were used to heat the Herring oil.

Casino Niagara Falls

The entrance to Fallsview Casino next to the Horseshoe Falls at Niagara Falls, Canada.

I was not able to use a tripod as I was sneaking the shot from low down behind a pillar to avoid the security guard so not the ideal situation for planning and taking absolute symmetry.

Madrid

The formal garden area of the pool in front of the Temple of Debod, Madrid provide some excellent structure for this one. I am guessing that most people settle for a picture of the actual Temple which was behind me at the time.

footbridge

Arganzuela Footbridge in Madrid is a series of bridges over the Manzanares river allows passage from one side of the park to the other.

The Shard - London

The Shard - London

The restaurant floors of The Shard in London provide free panoramic views of the city and also a great space to photograph when the shadows are right.

London Eye

The fisheye lens really came into it's own to get this shot of the London Eye. The area in the foreground is normally blocked with display stands or stalls so you have to be somewhat lucky to achieve this.

Pisa

The interior of the leaning tower of Pisa is not often seen in photos, it is hard to believe this is one of the most recognisable buildings in the world.

Zhejiang Road Bridge, Shanghai at night

Suzhou Creek, Shanghai at night

Zhejiang Road illuminated bridge over Suzhou Creek, Shanghai.

Garden Bridge - Shanghai at night

Waibaidu Bridge was the first all-steel bridge, and the only surviving example of a Camelback Truss bridge, in China. As far as I could make out, it was the only one in Shanghai that changed colour too.
